We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible talent and dedication of the winners and nominees of the prestigious 3rd Annual Black Girl Digital Awards presented by Walt Disney World Resort. This event, hosted by Black Girl Digital, has become a beacon of recognition for underrepresented content creators who are making a significant impact through their brand partnerships and community engagement on their platforms.
The Black Girl Digital Awards not only honor the creativity and hard work of these creators but also highlight the importance of diversity and representation in the creator economy. With 40 distinct awards, the show showcases a vibrant array of content verticals, making it a truly inclusive and empowering event. This event is made possible by the generous support of our Champion Partner: Rare Beauty, our Bronze Sponsor: African Pride, and our Leadership Partners: YouTube, Chase for Businesses, Black Women Live's Matter, and Kate Spade New York. We also appreciate our agency partners such as Agency Cliquish, Black Menswear, and CFG, who have played a crucial role in bringing this event to life.
Why The 3rd Annual Black Girl Digital Award is Critical
The Black Girl Digital Awards play a crucial role in closing the wage gap for Black creators. By recognizing and celebrating their contributions, the award helps to elevate their visibility and value in the industry. This recognition can lead to more lucrative brand partnerships and opportunities, ultimately helping to narrow the wage gap that has long affected Black creators.
Impact on Careers
For many creators, winning an award can be a game-changer. It opens doors to new opportunities, increases their credibility, and provides a platform to showcase their talents to a broader audience. This can lead to higher-paying projects, more significant brand collaborations, and overall career growth.
Closing the Wage Gap
The wage gap remains a significant issue in the creator economy. According to recent statistics, women earn an average of 16% less than men. For Black women, the gap is even more pronounced, with Black women earning just 64% of what non-Hispanic white men are paid. The Black Girl Digital Awards aim to address this disparity by highlighting the work of Black creators and advocating for fair compensation.
